Das steht auf den Slides
- Slide 1
6 things nobody tells you
about your first year as a manager
Swipe through. Number 4 took me two years to learn.
- Slide 2
Your job is no longer to be the best at the work. It’s to make the work better for everyone else.
- Slide 3
You will miss being an expert. That feeling of “I’m bad at this” means you’re learning the new job.
- Slide 4
Say the hard thing early, and kindly. Feedback gets heavier the longer you carry it.
- Slide 5
Your team watches what you do at 6 p.m., not what you say at 9 a.m. Go home.
- Slide 6
One-on-ones are their meeting, not yours. Ask “what’s in your way?” and then stay quiet.
- Slide 7
You don’t need all the answers. “I don’t know yet, let’s find out” builds more trust than a guess.
- Slide 8
Which one do you wish you’d known sooner?
Repost to help a new manager in your network.
